Tasting Note

The nose of the 2022 A Cesteira is peachy and elegant, clean, precise, subtle and harmonious, very young but with incipient complexity. It unfurls more layers of aromas with time in the glass, herbs and moss, quite spectacular. The palate is powerful but terrifically balanced, with pungent flavours, intense and persistent. It has a velvety palate, fine-grained and harmonious, balanced and long, very elegant and subtle. - Luis Gutierrez, Robert Parker Wine Advocate 96/100

Product Notes

Bodegas Fulcro Finca A Cesteira Albarino Rias Baixas is a delightful Spanish white wine from the Rías Baixas region. Displaying the signature characteristics of the Albarino grape, it boasts a captivating nose filled with fresh floral and citrus notes. On the palate, it offers a touch of salinity paired with bright acidity, leading to a crisp, refreshing finish. The wine is beautifully balanced, showcasing ripe fruit flavours without overshadowing the grape's intrinsic minerality. It's a charming, elevated example of a classic Spanish Albarino, perfect for seafood pairings or simply to enjoy on its own.

About the Winery

Bodegas Fulcro is an acclaimed winery nestled in the picturesque landscapes of Rías Baixas, the heartland for Albariño wine in Galicia, Spain. Its enigmatic founder and proprietor, Manuel Moldes, is a remarkable vigneron who charted an unconventional path in the realm of viticulture, rebelling against commercial conformity.

The vineyard sprawls across several small plots of land - varying elevations and orientations, shaping diverse microclimates that contribute to the distinct character of each bottle. The regional climatic uniqueness, a harmonious blend of maritime influences and mineral-rich granite soils, leaves an indelible imprint on Fulcro’s wines.

Bodegas Fulcro is uncompromising in its commitment to natural winemaking. Here, organic farming goes hand in hand with biodynamic principles, thereby preserving the local biodiversity and soil fertility. Chemical treatments are eschewed completely which sets Fulcro apart from its peers.

Every bottle of Fulcro tells its unique tale, an embodiment of meticulous craftsmanship and a pursuit of perfection. Its Bentraces Albariño, an epitome of elegance, exhibits a generous fruit profile with the nuanced elegance of saline minerality, while the Pescuda Albariño offers a more opulent, concentrated experience. The Sancti Vicenti Albariño is a true confluence of intensity and finesse, exemplifying the depth and complexity Bodegas Fulcro is celebrated for.

Visitors at Bodegas Fulcro are welcomed with an offer of intimate, personalized tours which enables them to appreciate the dedication and passion behind each bottle of wine.
