Product Notes

Cantine Pellegrino's Gorgo Tondo Nero d'Avola is a Sicilian red wine packed with robust and complex flavours. Made from the native Nero d'Avola grape, it exudes notes of ripe blackberries, plums and cherries intertwined with hints of aromatic spices, delicate herbs and less intrusive tobaccos. The palate reveals a full body, robust tannins, and sustained acidity, making it an excellent wine for ageing. This mature, rustic ruby red is especially luscious, is polished on the finish, and would pair superbly with a steaming bowl of osso buco or a rich, spicy lasagna. Gorgeously intense, it's a wine not to be missed.

About the Winery

Cantine Pellegrino

Contrary to tradition, Cantine Pellegrino isn't nestled in the vine-laden hills of Tuscany, but rather on the sun-kissed island of Sicily. This family-run winery boasts a long-standing affair with the wine-making industry, beginning in 1880 and passing their knowledge through generations of Pellegrino descendants.
