Product Notes

Castello di Verduno Barolo wine is an exquisite Italian product, from the Piedmont region, renowned for its high quality and designed for the discerning palate. With its ethereal, multi-layered spectrum, the wine captivates the senses, flaunting rich nuances of red cherry, raspberry, rose petal, and licorice, elegantly integrated with spices and hint of truffle. Matured for years in Slavonian oak barrels, it embodies a robust structure, mellow tannins, and a prolonged, sophisticated finish. Its austere, intense, and complex characteristics make it a harmonious companion to rich meat dishes, hearty cheeses, and paté. Spectacular Barolo wine embodies the essence of indulgence.

Tasting Notes

Woodland berry, cedar and pressed rose form the nose. Taut and medium-bodied, the linear palate features juicy red cherry, spiced cranberry and star anise alongside fine-grained tannins. It closes on an almost salty note. It's already close to the start of its ideal drinking window but still offers good mid-term aging potential.

About the Winery

Castello di Verduno

Nestled in the heart of the Piedmont region in Northern Italy lies the enchanting winery, Castello di Verduno. This historical winery encapsulates the magic and tradition of Italian winemaking whilst holding an esteemed position in the rich tapestry of globally renowned vineyards.

Constructed in 1838, Castello di Verduno proudly exhibits the Italian architecture of the time. Its stately stone walls and grand archways are augmented by the stunning backdrop of lush, rolling vineyards, offering a panoramic vista that is simply breath-taking. Within its charming interior, antique oak barrels house the maturing wines, each being carefully crafted to perfection.

The winery has firmly cemented its legacy in the world of wine production, specialising in the production of Barbaresco and Barolo wines amongst others. Utilising age-old traditions fused with modern techniques, the estate skillfully cultivates Nebbiolo, Pelaverga, and Dolcetto grapes. The result of this expertise is an exquisite range of wines that satisfy the palate of even the most discerning critics.
