Product Notes

Chateau Haut Batailley Pauillac wine is an esteemed product of France's premier Bordeaux region. Its subtle complexity intertwines with a powerful depth, eloquently representing the essence of Pauillac's wines. Haut Batailley's deserved reputation emanates from its full-bodied and robust character, coming alive with rich flavours of dark fruit and mild spice. Its ageing process yields earthy undernotes and balanced tannins, resulting in a satisfyingly long finish. Moreover, the wine's garnet hue is nothing short of mesmerising. It's a tangible reflection of both tradition and expertise combined, making this wine a compelling choice for the discerning oenophile.

Tasting Notes

5e Cru Classe from Bordeaux reveals a deep, shiny red hue. The nose exudes a lovely bouquet with delicious black fruits and spices. Very ripe and alluring tannins coat the palate with intense fruit for superb balance. The whole boasts lovely structure: elegant, smooth, and pure.

About the Winery

Chateau Haut Batailley

Nestled in the heart of the iconic Bordeaux region in France, Chateau Haut Batailley is a revered and reputable winery, synonymous with quality and tradition. Located in the commune of Pauillac, it spans an impressive 40 hectares, boasting an unparalleled terroir of deep gravel and limestone which fosters the growth of elegant and robust Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot vines.

Chateau Haut Batailley, undeniably, stands as a matter of national pride. This fifth-growth Bordeaux property was classified as one of the top wine producers in the 1855 Classification, which still stands testament to its superior quality today.

The roots of the Chateau Haut Batailley are steeped in a rich history dating back to the 18th century. After pillage during the French revolution the estate has been rebuilt, nurtured and developed over the years, under the watchful eyes of notable wine families. It was formerly part of a larger estate along with Chateau Batailley, but was divided among siblings in 1942. Since 2017, the prestigious Cazes family, owners of Château Lynch-Bages, have been stewards of the estate, injecting a fresh perspective whilst respecting the property’s historic legacy.

The vineyards of Chateau Haut Batailley are meticulously tended to, with efforts taken in pruning and soil treatment to ensure that the fruitful vines flourish. All of these efforts are undertaken with minimal intervention, thereby preserving the authenticity and characteristic minerality of the wines.

From this exquisite terroir comes its flagship wine, Chateau Haut-Batailley Grand Vin, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, is celebrated worldwide for its potent tannins, high acidity and rich, layered complexity. Expect notes of plums, cherries, fresh mint and spices with the additional promise of excellent ageing potential.

Unquestionably, Chateau Haut Batailley should be a top choice for wine aficionados worldwide! Its timeless tradition of winemaking, the undeniable quality of its produce, and its dedication to the craft of viticulture, continue to elevate its reputation in the wine world. There is no doubt Chateau Haut Batailley wines are a toast to excellence, forging a fine balance between tradition and innovation in every bottle crafted..
