Tasting Note

The Lavaut Saint-Jacques vineyard is known for its slightly leaner style of wine compared to the neighboring Clos Saint-Jacques, due to a cool wind that funnels into the vineyard. Raspberry, black cherry, earth like notes as well as a touch of oak are complemented by an elegant structure and fine well balanced tannins and acidity.

Product Notes

Domaine Confuron-Cotetidot Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaut Saint Jacques is an exceptional French wine, emanating from the revered Burgundy region. Renowned for its deeply concentrated ruby hue and complexities, this wine boasts a rich array of flavours. Savour this wine with game, red meat or matured cheeses for an exquisite wine-dining experience.

About the Winery

Domaine Confuron-Cotetidot

Located amid the picturesque landscapes of Burgundy's Vosne-Romanée, Domaine Confuron-Cotetidot is a beacon of passionate winemaking. Founded in the 17th century, it's currently helmed by the dynamic duo, Jack Confuron and his son, Yves.

Domaine Confuron-Cotetidot has a rich history spanning four centuries; it was set up in 1681 by Pierre Confuron and has been passed from father to son since then. It's quite remarkable that the Domaine owns vineyards in Chambolle-Musigny, Vosne-Romanée, and Nuits-Saint-Georges adding up to approximately 12 hectares.

They are proud owners of many Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards, including the famed Echezeaux and Chambolle-Musigny. Despite the prestige of their vineyards each vine is treated with equal love and respect, with organic farming methods utilised to maintain the inherent quality of the grapes.

The philosophy at Confuron-Cotetidot is that the wine is made in the vineyards, not in the cellar. Hence, they favour a light touch in the winery, with minimal intervention, allowing the terroir to speak for itself. Their wines are known for their intensity, longevity and complexity, and are cherished by wine connoisseurs and collectors the world over

One uplifting note is that their wine repertoire is quite remarkable. Their Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru, a full-bodied and aromatic wine, is particularly esteemed. The wines exude charm and a curiously distinctive character which, combines beautifully with their strong structure reflecting the true power of Burgundy terroirs. Domaine Confuron-Cotetidot is an inspiring manifestation of viticultural heritage with a rich history, profound winemaking philosophy and an uncompromising quest for quality.
