Tasting Note

The 2015 Darmagi opens with typical notes of menthol, coffee powder, herbs, cassis. Rich and dense texture at the palate, with ripe dark cherry, preserved black currant, blueberry, and plum. The wine shows a solid structure, great volume in the palate, fine-grained tannins and lifting acidity. Very long finish.

Product Notes

Gaja Darmagi is an exquisite Italian red wine extravaganza hailing from the world-renowned Gaja Winery in Piedmont. The name 'Darmagi', meaning 'what a pity' in Piedmontese, pays homage to the Cabernet Sauvignon vines that replaced traditional Nebbiolo vineyards, a decision that now yields this bold, supremely well-structured wine. It captivates drinkers with its luxuriant blackcurrant notes, an undercurrent of spice, and a rich, savoury finish. Matured in oak barrels for a year, it radiates a deep ruby aesthetic. Gaja Darmagi serves as the perfect complement to red meat dishes and promises an unforgettable wine-tasting experience.
