Tasting Note

A masterclass in Alicante Bouschet, Mouchao's namesake wine is made from fruit grown on the Carrapetos and Dourada vineyards, the latter of which provides riper, plummuer Alicante Bouschet. Spicy black fruit, plum jam and black olives on the nose, with an underlying stemmy-minty touch that's a hallmark of Mouchao. The palate is intense and rich, but also delightfully fresh and vibrant, with fine tannins and a long, persistent finish.

Product Notes

Herdade do Mouchão Mouchao Tinto is a well-crafted Portuguese wine boasting exquisite notes of ripe fruits, spice and hints of vanilla. Intense, deep ruby colour, combined with a robust and complex palate, it truly captivates the senses. Maturation in traditional stone lagares and aged in large wooden vats and barrels, this gloriously potent Alentejo wine presents layered flavours with a long, satisfying finish. Truly a testament to the rich Portuguese wine-making tradition, this medium-bodied treat is an excellent companion for robust meat dishes. Experience the unique charm of the Mouchão Tinto; a luscious immersion into deep, aromatic decadence.
