Tasting Note

Pale gold colour, limpid and brilliant with golden reflections. The first nose is discreet, fruity with fresh citrus notes (bergamot, lemon). Slight notes of brioche and butter appear after aeration. The attack on the palate is full of energy, fruity, tangy with aromas of exotic fruits (pineapple). The structure is present with a nice sweetness making the whole round and ample. The finish is saline and brings a nice length. Food and wine pairings: It will go perfectly with a Comté soufflé, pan-fried porcini mushrooms or even a filet mignon in a crust.

Product Notes

La Chablisienne Chablis Les Vénérables is an exemplary French wine, cherished for its spectacular consistency, complexity and depth. This award-winning Chardonnay, steeped in tradition, boasts a sublime palate of green apple, oyster shell and flint. Its vivacious vibrancy is intermingled with a subtle yet discernible hint of elderflower and vanilla. Crisp minerality balances its rich body to create a medium to long finish that is immensely satisfying. It is a splendid embodiment of prime Chablis, marvellously affordable and the perfect accompaniment to seafood and white meat dishes.

About the Winery

La Chablisienne

La Chablisienne winery, nestled in the heart of Burgundy's Chablis region, is a premier vineyard that carries a rich and proud history. Established in 1923, this cooperative winery has, since its inception, been driven by traditional values of excellence and uncompromising quality.

The cooperative comprises nearly 300 passionate winegrowers, who work relentlessly to produce an array of exceptional wines. They cultivate a staggering range of vineyards, spanning over 25% of the region's vine-growing area. This enables the cooperative to offer an unparalleled diversity of expressions through its wines, each reflecting the distinctive characteristics of individual vineyard parcels.

At the heart of La Chablisienne's philosophy is a profound respect for the terroir, which provides an exceptional quality of grape varieties including Chardonnay, famously used in Chablis wines. Each vineyard parcel is carefully nurtured to achieve a flawless balance between the grape variety and the climactic conditions.

Acclaimed for its range of authentic Chablis, La Chablisienne has consistently showcased the perfect interplay of climate, soil and dedicated craftsmanship. Its wines bear the unmistakable stamp of Chablis terroir, merging the complexity of Chardonnay with the unique minerality derived from the region's iconic Kimmeridgian soils.

La Chablisienne's focus on sustainable wine-making practises further distinguishes it from competitors. The winery does not use any artificial fertilisers or pesticides, ensuring the balance of the vineyards and giving back to the environment.

Epitomising the very essence of French viticulture, this prestigious winery has repeatedly been recognised for their superior wines. It offers everything from classic Chablis to the elevated Premier Cru and the illustrious Grand Cru. Each wine reflects the pride, dedication and expertise of their growers, making La Chablisienne a treasured part of the Burgundy wine landscape. As a result, La Chablisienne continues to be a beacon for lovers of fine wine – not just in France, but all around the world: It's a remarkable journey of taste and refinement that awaits you at La Chablisienne winery.
