Product Notes

Masciarelli Villa Gemma Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is an opulent Italian wine straight from the heart of Abruzzo. Its compelling nose offers an array of ripe black fruit, leather and earthy undertones. Delicate notes of black cherry, plum and tobacco tantalise the palate. Richly flavoured with balanced tannins, it's complex, full-bodied and distinct. A luxurious finish resonates with dark chocolate and spicy hints. This robust wine pairs exquisitely with hearty cuisine or can be enjoyed alone for an indulgent treat. A sophisticated choice for those seeking an authentic taste of Italy's esteemed viticulture.

Tasting Notes

This fills the senses with soaring notes of coffee, cigar box, thick black fruits, minerals, spice, currants - the whole sensory caboodle. Powerful on the palate yet somehow civilized (probably due to the bottle aging at the cellar) the Gemma is opaque with a rich, elegant and complex nose. The first impact gives both power and refinement, then the fruit appears followed by flavours of tar, cocoa beans, balsam and the classic liquorice.
