Product Notes

Morgan Cotes du Crows is an exquisitely balanced Californian red wine. The sophisticated blend of Grenache and Syrah, sourced from the best vineyards in Monterey County, delivers a sophisticated taste. Its profile intertwines juicy blackberry, dark chocolate and roasted pepper flavours with an earthy undercurrent. This full-bodied wine is beautifully structured with sleek tannins and bright acidity. The wine is aged in French oak barrels that lend subtle wood notes, rounding out the finish. Its elegant character complements a variety of cuisine, making it a versatile choice for gourmet dining. Truly a testament to Morgan’s craftsmanship in winemaking.

Tasting Notes

This Rhone-style blend has a rich ruby color, highlighted by purple edges. Raspberry jam and sweet herbs jump out of the glass. The wine is medium-full bodied with soft tannins, offering flavors of strawberry hard candy and fresh plum. Its weight and balance make it a perfect pairing for anything off the grill.

About the Winery

Morgan

Nestled in the heart of California's Monterey County lies the esteemed Morgan Winery, a vineyard that has steadily remained at the pinnacle of American viticulture for more than three decades. Founded in 1982 by Dan Lee and Donna Lee, this family-run business is deeply rooted in its commitment to sustainably farming superior quality grapes.

Morgan Winery, stretching across the stunning landscapes of the Santa Lucia Highlands and the Arroyo Seco AVAs, is renowned for crafting exceptional, full-bodied wines: wines that effortlessly encapsulate the vibrant nuances of their terroir. Over the course of its life, the winery has consistently collected accolades and honours for their powerful yet pleased expressions of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

Every facet of the winemaking process receives meticulous attention to ensure the purity and depth of each individual vintage. Hands-on harvesting, restrained fermentation, careful ageing on French oak, and a strict, minimally invasive bottling regimen are testament to this approach. It is admittedly a labour-intensive endeavour, however, the results speak volumes in the glass.

One of the distinguished features of the Morgan Winery is their commitment to sustainability. They recognise the importance of practicing eco-sensitive winemaking and give due regard to the soil health and biodiversity. Most notably, in 1996 Morgan became the first vineyard in the acclaimed Santa Lucia Highlands to be certified organic. Later, they received Sustainability in Practice (SIP) certification, further cementing their reputation as champions of environmentally-conscious viticulture.

Come rain or shine, the team at Morgan Winery, who are as diverse and robust as the wines they produce, passionately work to ensure that every bottle remains true to its origin expressing a sense both of continuity and evolution.

Morgan Winery is not just a vineyard, it is an anthem to artful winemaking, bearing the fruits of dedication, preservation and above all else, a love for the vinter's craft. There is no server for the passion poured into every bottle, and the wines' seemingly effortless ability to capture and convey the spirit of their Californian home.
