Tasting Note

A ruby red colour, with lively highlights and violet rim. An intense complex nose with aromas of wild red berries, smoky notes and hints of menthol and liquorice. It has a clear vanilla background that adds to its complexity, without diminishing the wine's freshness and liveliness. Full-bodied wine, with an easy and pleasant flow. This wine retains a subtle and suggestive crispness in spite of the mouth-filling, well-rounded tannins. Liquorice, vanilla and hints of undergrowth emerge on aftertaste. Long and pleasant finish.

About the Winery

Marqués de Cáceres

Marqués de Cáceres is a prestigious winery, located in the heart of Spain's renowned Rioja region. This winery is named after a descendant of the famous Duke of Alburquerque, whose legacy is intertwined with the history of Spanish vine cultivation.

Founded in 1970, Marqués de Cáceres has firmly established its prominence in the wine world. Its inception came during a period of significant changes in the Rioja wine landscape. The winery melded traditional wine-making techniques with pioneering innovation, invariably contributing to the resurgence of Rioja wines on the international stage. Also, it was instrumental in highlighting the distinctiveness of Spanish terroir.

Nestled amongst lush vineyards, the winery's facilities reflect a marriage of tradition and modernity. Aided by state-of-the-art technology, the team at Marqués de Cáceres uncompromisingly ensures the highest quality of wine production and preservation. The winery specialises in red wines, primarily made from Tempranillo grapes. However, their repertoire also includes wonderful white, rosé, and sparkling wines.

The wines produced by Marqués de Cáceres are a testament to the region's rich viticultural heritage. Each bottle encapsulates a particular passion for excellence and respect for authenticity: and in many ways, these wines are less a beverage, and more a celebration of the soul of Spain.

Beyond its wines, the winery is equally celebrated for its commitment to sustainability. A strong advocate for responsible viticulture, Marqués de Cáceres reduces, reuses, and recycles wherever possible, ensuring that its practices are in harmony with the environment.

With a history steeped in tradition and a forward-thinking approach to wine making, Marqués de Cáceres is a beacon of Spanish wine culture, both in its native Rioja and across the globe; it's a testament to the art of fine wine production.
