As expressed through her grandmother, she is a descendant of the Wolvengat Khoisan, the indigenous tribespeople of South Africa. Per their legends, the mystical, feminist figure 'Jakhals trou met wolf se vrou', symbolising the wolf and woman, fuels the spirit of the winery.
