Goats do Roam
Goats Do Roam is a brand made by celebrated South African producer Fairview. These wines are a tongue-in-cheek tribute to the esteemed Côtes du Rhône wines of France, and were introduced in 2000, inspired by a family incident. The story goes that some of Fairview's well-established goat herd escaped into the Fairview vineyards after Charles Back's young son Jason accidentally left the gate of their paddock open, and contentedly roamed around feasting on the choicest and ripest berries from the vines. The Goats do Roam range are an intriguing blend of Southern French and Italian styles, made from fruit sourced primarily from Paarl, Malmesbury and Paardeberg. Rich and complex, and terrific value for money – these are wines that lead the herd!
