La Crema was established in 1979 in Russian River in California's Sonoma County. It is a brand of the family-owned Jackson Family Wines and Laura Jackson-Giron and her sister Jennifer Jackson, who manage La Crema, are daughters of the legendary Jess Jackson, the founder of the iconic Kendall-Jackson winery. The original name was La Crema Viñera, which means “best of the vine”, which is the cornerstone of their philosophy. They have explored California and Oregon's cool climate regions in order to focus on and showcase the Burgundian grape varieties of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir to produce elegant wines with complex flavours and aromas. La Crema's sustainably farmed vineyards are located in Russian River, the Anderson Valley, Monterey, the Sonoma Coast, Los Carneros and Arroyo Seco in California, and the Willamette Valley in Oregon. The La Crema style is a combination of traditional Burgundian and contemporary Californian. Each location expresses the terroir of the region, capturing the unique personality and flavour profile of the vineyards.
