Sons of Eden
The two “sons” are Corey Ryan and Simon Cowham who both learned and refined their trades in the vineyards and cellars of the Eden Valley. They established their winery in the Barossa Valley in 2000, focusing on producing wines with unquestionable quality with flavour and personality from this world-renowned region. They hand-pick grapes from 30 unique vineyard sites in the Barossa and Eden Valleys, concentrating on varieties that these regions produce to a world standard. The Barossa Valley produces full-bodied red wines with finesse and restrained concentration, and here Shiraz, Grenache and Mourvedre shine, whilst the high altitude and cool climate Eden Valley delivers pristine and aromatic Rieslings, and vibrant red wines with elegant silky tannins from Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. Some of their treasured vineyards have vines that are over 50 years old which produce miniscule yields. They take a minimal intervention approach in the cellar and handcraft wine in small batches. These wines have a strong sense of identity, and deliver outstanding quality.
