White grape variety originating from Piemonte, Italy. The name translates as 'little rascal' which is reflective of the varietys trickiness to cultivate. The wines became rare in the 1970s, but enjoyed a revival in the 1980s, and plantings are now almost 600ha.The wines made in the Langhe and Roero are typically dry, full-bodied and interestingly perfumed, the best examples are un-oaked.
