Tasting Note

A mineral-driven Chenin Blanc, showcasing a pale straw colour with subtle green hues. The nose is lively and pure, offering fresh aromas of green apple, white peach, quince, and a delicate floral touch of hawthorn blossom. Underlying these are intriguing notes of wet stone, crushed chalk, and a whisper of wild honey. The palate is crisp and focused, with bright acidity balancing a textured mid-palate and a lively saline minerality. Flavours of citrus peel, pear, and almond interplay gracefully, culminating in a long, clean, and refreshing finish. A beautifully precise and elegant expression of Montlouis terroir.

Product Notes

François Chidaine Les Choisilles wine is an exquisitely made, organic Chenin Blanc hailing from the Loire Valley in France. This wine boasts a complex bouquet of fresh fruits, mineral flavours, and subtle floral notes. Its enticing, dry body is complemented perfectly by a crisp acidity and a lingering finish. Delightfully vibrant and sophisticated, Les Choisilles offers an exciting, balanced palate that wine enthusiasts and novice tasters alike find hard to resist. Aging in neutral oak adds hints of spice and depth, making each sip a truly enchanting experience. This is a beautiful representation of a classic Loire Valley Chenin Blanc.

About the Winery

François Chidaine

Nestled on the south bank of the Loire River in Montlouis-sur-Loire, Domaine François Chidaine stands as one of the Loire Valley's most respected producers of Chenin Blanc. The estate's modern winery is located in the village of Husseau, with vineyards stretching across three appellations: around 20 hectares in Montlouis-sur-Loire, 10 hectares in Vouvray (north of the river), and 7 hectares in the broader Touraine zone for reds, rosés, and Sauvignon Blanc—totaling about 37 hectares of biodynamically farmed land.
