A magnificent old Tawny displaying aromas of crystallised orange peel, toasted almond, dried fig, honey and cedar. Luxuriously textured and exceptionally complex, with layers of caramel, marmalade, spice and vibrant citrus acidity carrying through an extraordinarily long finish.

Royal Oporto 40 Year Old Tawny Port is a mature fortified wine from Portugal’s Douro Valley, aged in oak casks to develop its complex character. Its tawny colour hints at decades of gradual maturation, while the nose offers layers of dried fruit, toasted nuts, caramel and warm spice. On the palate, rich sweetness is balanced by freshness, with flavours that linger through an elegant finish. Enjoy it slightly chilled, either on its own or alongside blue cheese, walnuts, crème brûlée or nutty desserts. This is a contemplative after-dinner wine, suited to slow sipping and special occasions when time is unhurried.
