Shiraz Grenache

This grape marriage is typical in the Rhône region of France, and is emulated throughout the new world.Shiraz is a thick-skinned variety that creates highly tannic wines which, depending on the growing  location, can produce an array of enticing aromas, such as black fruit and pepper. Shiraz will also contribute body and structure to the blend.

Grenache is far lighter, with less tannin, but is typically high in alcohol and creates wines with distinctive red fruit and spice. Evidentially, the two grapes complement each other magnificently, both providing what the other lacks.
