About Bodega Cerrón

Bodega Cerrón is a modern, family-run winery situated in Fuente-Álamo, in Spain’s Jumilla DO, a region renowned for its rugged, high-altitude vineyards. While the Cerrón family has been cultivating grapes in the area for over a century, they established the winery in 2011 to produce estate-bottled wines that fully express the character of their vineyards.

The estate lies at nearly 1,000 meters above sea level, on calcareous soils that, combined with the continental climate, give the wines their vibrant fruit, lively acidity, and mineral structure. The family emphasizes organic and biodynamic practices, including hand harvesting, indigenous yeast fermentation, and aging in large oak foudres and concrete vessels, aiming for wines that reflect the purity of the terroir.

Led by Juan José Cerdán and his siblings, Bodega Cerrón has restored previously neglected vineyards and focused on crafting expressive, terroir-driven wines. Their range includes bold, fruit-forward Monastrell reds, as well as carefully made whites and blends that explore the diversity of Jumilla’s soils and microclimates. With a commitment to minimal intervention, sustainability, and authenticity, Bodega Cerrón has become a standout producer in the region, earning recognition for wines that combine elegance, depth, and true expression of their high-altitude Jumilla terroir.
