Chateau Cantenac Brown, nestled in the heart of the Bordeaux region in charming south-west France, has a history steeped in the viticulture of the area, with its establishment dating back to the 19th Century. Originally, it ultimately formed under the ownership of Scottish-born John Lewis Brown, who gifted his name to the winery's iconic title.

Over the years, the Chateau Cantenac Brown estate has changed hands various times, each successive owner imprinting their unique identity onto the winery, whilst meticulously maintaining respect for its rich past. This sense of continuity harmonises perfectly with the transformative nature of winemaking, and as such, Chateau Cantenac Brown has carved a reputation for crafting some of France's most sought-after wines.

In 2020, the winery entered a new era under the wing of the Le Lous family Spurred on by a vision to refresh the property without disturbing its essence, they unveiled ambitious plans to make Chateau Cantenac Brown the first positive energy winery in the Bordeaux region for pristine sustainability.

Located in the compiled area of Margaux, the estate spans around 48 hectares defined by gravelly soil, ideal for the production of its signature Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot blend. With its three-storey Tudor-style Chateau nestled among vast vineyards, Cantenac Brown is a visually striking testament to a rich past and a promising future in the mystique world of wine.
