About Château de Fieuzal
Located in the heart of Pessac-Léognan, Chateau de Fieuzal is a beacon of viticultural tradition. Its origins trace back to the late 19th century when Irish gentleman, Thomas Barton, famous for his significant contribution to the Bordeaux wine trade, assumed ownership.
The estate has since passed hands multiple times. The present owners, the Quinn family, acquired the property in 2001, and despite their Irish descent, they have remained committed to mastering the art of winemaking in the French fashion.
Located just south of Bordeaux, the vineyard spans an impressive 75 hectares, providing a remarkable terroir for the cultivation of both red and white grapes. The most prominent varietals grown here are the bold Cabernet Sauvignon and the fruity Merlot, but the winery also produces some very refined white wines like Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon.
In terms of their offerings, Chateau de Fieuzal's red and whites are both classified as a Grand Cru Classe in the Graves Classification, a prestigious honour representing the high standards to which the vineyard adheres in every aspect including, viticulture, winemaking, and cellaring.
