The Vauthiers, associated with the prominent Chateau Ausone, acquired this establishment in 1971, using their decades of winemaking experience to elevate Chateau de Fonbel to new heights.
The winery is renowned for its distinct blend of four grape varieties; Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, and a relatively low percentage of Carménère; a rare variety credited for the unique character of their wines.
