Nestled in Saint-Estèphe, the northern part of the Médoc region of Bordeaux, lies the oldest winery in the region, Château de Pez. Steeped in rich history, this winery extends over a vast domain of 26 hectares, creating an inviting ambiance that soothes the soul while stimulating the senses.

Established in the 15th century by Jean de Briscos, the winery has seen a sundry of owners, including the infamous Jean-Jacques d’Abbadie, a knight and infamous astrologer. Ownership shifted to the Pontac family in the 18th century who, remarkably, had started the Bordeaux wine trade years prior.

Château de Pez’s vineyards are sporadically positioned across a variety of meticulous terroir unique to Saint-Estèphe: gravel, clay and limestone, The vineyards are predominantly planted with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grape varietals, which account for the unparalleled taste of it's lush wines. The Château also flourishes by following the Bordeaux tradition of blending grape varietals, resulting in two unique flavours: Château de Pez and Les Hauts de Pez, which continually impress and appeal to sommeliers and connoisseurs around the globe.

The winemaking process here remains as traditional and meticulous as ever. Large wooden vats are used for the fermentation process, following by a maturation period in oak barrels. This process aids in infusing each bottle of wine with indulgent aromas and distinct flavours.

Another noteworthy facet of Château de Pez is its stunning château, which was beautifully renovated in the 18th century.
