About Château Haut-Brion

Château Haut-Brion, one of France's oldest and most prestigious wine producers: is situated in the Pessac-Léognan region, just south of the city of Bordeaux. Owned by the American Dillon family since the 1930s, their wines have been enjoyed across the globe for centuries.

The estate's history dates back to 1533 when it was established by Jean de Pontac. With a long and colourful past, its wines were purportedly the favourites of many historical figures including English philosopher John Locke and the late Charles II, King of England.

There are 51 hectares planted with grape varieties including Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc; dedicated to the production of its revered red wine. Additionally, the estate also produces a limited quantity of white wine, crafted from Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc grape varietals.

Château Haut-Brion's wines are renowned for their complexity, elegance, and longevity. Their red wine exhibits intricate flavours of dark fruit, tobacco and earthy undertones and has the exceptional ability to age gracefully for several decades. The white wine, on the other-hand, boasts notes of citrus, honey and toast has a beautiful finesse.
