Tasting Note

Bright pale gold with an expressive nose of white peach, ripe pear and citrus, layered with white flowers, subtle brioche and a touch of hazelnut. The palate is generous and silky, combining ripe white and stone fruits with a fine creamy texture. Fresh acidity and chalky minerality provide excellent tension, developing into a distinctly saline, mouth-watering finish with lingering citrus and mineral notes.

Product Notes

Domaine Robert-Denogent Mâcon-Villages Les Sardines is a beautifully crafted French Chardonnay, originating from the prestigious Maconnais region of Burgundy. Its name derives from a quirky local tale about a sardine tin found in the vineyard. This rich, full-bodied wine presents a delicate balance of lush fruits and refined minerality. The palate reveals notes of ripe apple, pear and citrus accompanied by undertones of almond and honey. This fine Burgundian has excellent ageing potential due to its vibrant acidity and complex structure. An exceptional choice for those seeking elegant sophistication and a true reflection of terroir in their glass.

About the Winery

Domaine Robert-Denogent

Domaine Robert-Denogent is a highly regarded family estate based in Fuissé, in the heart of Burgundy’s southern Mâconnais. The domaine’s history stretches back to the 19th century, and today it is associated particularly with small-production, terroir-driven Chardonnay from old vines. Jean-Jacques Robert took charge of the family property in the late 1980s and was later joined by his sons, Nicolas and Antoine, who have helped carry the estate into a new generation.
