About Domaine Robert-Denogent

Domaine Robert-Denogent is a highly regarded family estate based in Fuissé, in the heart of Burgundy’s southern Mâconnais. The domaine’s history stretches back to the 19th century, and today it is associated particularly with small-production, terroir-driven Chardonnay from old vines. Jean-Jacques Robert took charge of the family property in the late 1980s and was later joined by his sons, Nicolas and Antoine, who have helped carry the estate into a new generation.

The domaine farms vineyards principally around Fuissé, Solutré-Pouilly and Vergisson, including parcels within Pouilly-Fuissé and Saint-Véran. Many of its vines are exceptionally old, with some parcels approaching or exceeding a century in age. These naturally low-yielding vineyards provide concentrated fruit while retaining the freshness and mineral character associated with the limestone-rich soils of the region.

Robert-Denogent is particularly known for its parcel-specific Pouilly-Fuissé bottlings, including celebrated sites such as Les Cras, La Croix and Les Reisses. The family also produces Saint-Véran and Mâcon wines, approaching each vineyard as an individual expression of its terroir.

Viticulture is carried out with minimal intervention and an increasing emphasis on organic and biodynamic principles. Harvesting is performed by hand, while cellar work is deliberately restrained. Fermentations rely on indigenous yeasts, and the wines are generally matured for extended periods in oak barrels, with new oak used judiciously.

The resulting wines are distinctive expressions of the Mâconnais: generous and textural yet balanced by freshness, minerality and precise acidity. The finest cuvées combine depth and concentration with remarkable complexity and have the structure to develop beautifully with bottle age.
