Founded in the post World War II era in 1946, E. Guigal winery is located in the ancient town of Ampuis, the heartland of the Côte Rôtie region of France. The Rhône Valley vineyards have sloping granite soils and enjoy a unique microclimate, making the area especially suited for viticulture.

Esteemed for its tremendous passion for viniculture, E. Guigal produces and sells over 7 million bottles of wine every year of which a significant portion comprises its signature Côte Rôtie La La wines, the La Mouline, La Turque, and La Landonne. These bold, complex and long-lived red wines exquisitely express the terroir of the region. Other classics include the beloved Château d'Ampuis, Condrieu La Doriane, and Saint-Joseph Vignes de l'Hospice.

Third-generation family member, Philippe Guigal, is currently the managing director and chief winemaker at E. Guigal. His guiding philosophy can best be described as a balance between tradition and innovation. He carries forward his grandfather's legacy around traditional winemaking techniques, while seamlessly incorporating modern technologies and processes to foster controlled quality production.

E. Guigal adheres to strenuous ageing regimes typically lasting up to 48 months to ensure the distinctive nature and quality of their wines. This extended maturation period allows each bottle to develop the exceptional aromatic complexity for which Guigal wines are famous.

The winery also boasts of an extensive oak barrel maturation cellar, over 3,500 barrels in size, creating a spectacular sight to behold. The entirety of the winery, combined with the passionate dedication of the Guigal family, makes this a touchstone of the French wine scene.
