Fortunate Son

Fortunate Son represents the creative vision of Jayson Woodbridge, the renowned Napa Valley winemaker behind the iconic Hundred Acre. First introduced in 2006, the label was reimagined in 2018 as Woodbridge’s personal exploration of Napa’s historic, small-scale vineyard sites—parcels that carry the valley’s legacy in their soils and vines.

Today, the winery is rooted in the storied David Fulton estate in St. Helena, one of Napa’s most historic properties. From this base, Fortunate Son operates across three pillars: the Fulton Lane winery, a network of carefully selected family vineyards, and a forthcoming estate, True Romance, which will open in 2027 as the next chapter in the project’s evolution.

The collection is defined by three wines of distinction. The Warrior is a single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon of remarkable concentration and presence. The Dreamer offers a layered expression of Cabernet drawn from mature sites across the valley. The Diplomat, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petite Sirah, is crafted for approachability without sacrificing depth.

Meticulous attention guides every detail, from hand-harvesting and small-lot fermentations to élevage in bespoke French oak. The resulting wines are powerful yet graceful, designed to embody both Napa’s heritage and Woodbridge’s uncompromising pursuit of excellence.
