Tasting Note

Bright ruby in colour, with aromas of sour red cherries, fennel, and delicate floral notes. It shows a wonderful complexity on the palate, with a core of fruit and spicy notes. The tannins are noteworthy, silky, and persistent. This 2020 Brunello, with outstanding balance, elegance, and complexity, will continue to develop its flavours in the bottle.

Product Notes

Fossacolle Brunello di Montalcino is a distinguished, premium red wine from Italy's esteemed Tuscany region. It boasts alluring aromas of ripe cherry, dark berries, and understated undertones of spice. This wine is particularly appreciated for its beautifully balanced acidity, firm tannins, and layered complexity that unfolds with every sip. Its finish is enduring and velvety, reflecting mature richness. Aged for five years prior to release, Fossacolle Brunello di Montalcino represents a fine choice for those who appreciate wines that develop with time. This sophisticated wine is perfect for enjoying with sumptuous red meat dishes or aged cheeses.

About the Winery

Fossacolle

The Fossacolle estate, in the south of Montalcino, comprises four hectares of vineyards of which 2.5 are destined for Brunello. Such is the quality of the vineyards that winemaker Adriano Bambagioni has been able to produce wines which have won numerous accolades over the years. Adriano honed his craft over 10 years working with Giacomo Tachis, the famed oenologist responsible for producing the first Super Tuscan wines. The estate has been owned by the Marchetti family, Adriano’s in-laws, since the 1700s and Adriano’s son, Stefano, now works alongside him.
