Product Notes

Garage Wine Co. Pais Lot 215 BC Ferment wine is a stunning revelation from Chile's Maule Valley. Crafted from old, dry-farmed vines, it shows how much wisdom is held in these ancient Pais grapes. It exhibits a rustic, almost wild, character with lively flavours of red fruits, herbs, and a hint of earthiness. The wine is unrefined yet enchanting, embracing its natural state which is allowed by native yeast fermentation and absence of oak impact. This limited release, artisanal wine is indeed an intriguing treat for both ardent wine connoisseurs and novices looking for something off the beaten track.

Tasting Notes

This saucy ruby wine is darker [and more serious] than many País out there with proper complexity and depth, ripe flavors and round tannins. This is the character of the grape on granite soils made in small lots with focus.

About the Winery

Garage Wine Co.

Renowned for its old-school approach to winemaking, Garage Wine Co. is a boutique Chilean winery that has gained cult status over the years. This unique vinification haven, located in the idyllic Maule Valley, is known for its emphasis on traditional methods and hands-on production techniques.

The brainchild of British expat Derek Mossman Knapp, Garage Wine Co. was born out of a personal project to create small-batch wines for friends and family. Aptly named, the winery started in the garage of Mossman's Santiago-based home; as a humble homage to its roots, the name stuck even after operation were relocated to Maule Valley.

Garage Wine Co. takes pride in its heritage and honours Chilean viticulture by using vines as old as eighty years. The focus is on producing hand-made wines that are unfiltered and fermented with native yeast. Solidifying its artisanal ethos, Garage Wine Co. releases only around 1500 cases each year, making the wines not only exceptionally good but equally rare.

Guided by the belief that great wines are made in the vineyard, not in the laboratory; Mossman adopts non-interventionist practices. The winery incorporates organic farming methodology, refrains from irrigation, and lets mother nature take the lead. The result of this dedication is a collection of spellbinding wines that beautifully express the terroir of their origin.

What sets Garage Wine Co. apart is its brilliance at crafting individualistic, precision-based wines that exude an unapologetic sense of place. Each bottle serves as a testament to the vineyard's personality, narrating a unique story waiting to be savoured, cherished and shared over and over again. The commitment to transparency and quality has earned Garage Wine Co. an impressive reputation worldwide: adored by wine lovers and applauded by critics alongside.

Marvellous, isn't it? Well, raise a toast to the raw, rustic charm of Garage Wine Co., and let’s celebrate this exceptional testament to individuality and terroir in the world of winemaking.
