About Jean-Philippe Fichet

Domaine Jean-Philippe Fichet is a highly respected Burgundian wine estate based in the prestigious village of Meursault, in the heart of the Côte de Beaune. Renowned for its exceptional Chardonnay wines, the domaine has built a reputation for precision, elegance and an unwavering commitment to expressing the individuality of Burgundy's celebrated terroirs.

A third-generation winegrower, Jean-Philippe Fichet established his own domaine in 1981, aged just 20, initially working four hectares of vineyards through a sharecropping agreement inherited from his father. Despite losing much of his vineyard holdings in 1991, he gradually rebuilt the estate, securing new parcels in Meursault and neighbouring appellations. In 2000, he acquired a former coaching inn in Meursault, transforming it into a modern winery and cellar.

The estate's vineyards span several distinguished sites, including Meursault's Les Chevalières, Les Tessons, Les Gruyaches and Le Tesson, alongside parcels in Auxey-Duresses, Monthélie and Puligny-Montrachet. Chardonnay dominates production, with a smaller selection of Pinot Noir wines.

Fichet's winemaking philosophy centres on meticulous vineyard management, healthy soils and minimal intervention, allowing each individual parcel to express its distinctive character. Careful oak maturation enhances complexity without overwhelming the purity of the fruit.

In August 2026, the estate entered a new chapter when Domaine Pierre Vincent took over its six hectares of vineyards, establishing Fichet & Vincent to continue its winemaking legacy. The wines remain celebrated for their remarkable balance of richness, freshness, mineral tension and unmistakable Burgundian character.
