About Mersel
Mersel Wine is a trailblazing Lebanese winery championing organic, natural winemaking rooted in tradition and innovation. Founded by Lebanese-Australian Eddie Chami, Mersel operates in some of Lebanon’s highest-altitude vineyards, including Maksar Mersel and Wadi Qannoubine, reaching elevations up to 2,650 meters.
This unique terroir, combined with sustainable, minimal-intervention practices, allows Mersel to craft expressive wines that highlight indigenous grape varieties.
The winery made history by introducing Lebanon’s first Pet-Nat and Piquette wines. A UC Davis-trained winemaker, Chami is passionate about preserving Lebanon’s viticultural heritage, working with ancient, dry-farmed vines—some over 150 years old—to revive native grapes like Merwah and Obeideh.
