Moderne Allegorie is a contemporary Greek wine range produced by Greek Wine Cellars (D. Kourtakis S.A.), one of Greece's most established family-owned wine businesses. With a winemaking heritage dating back to 1895, the company was founded by Vassilis Kourtakis, a pioneering Greek oenologist who established his winery in Markopoulo, Attica, approximately 30 kilometres northeast of Athens. His vision helped lay the foundations for modern Greek winemaking, a legacy that continued through successive generations of the Kourtakis family.

Under the leadership of Vassilis's son, Dimitri "Mimis" Kourtakis, the business expanded significantly, becoming an influential name in the Greek wine industry. Today, Greek Wine Cellars combines more than a century of winemaking experience with modern production techniques, showcasing the diversity and quality of Greece's indigenous grape varieties.

The Moderne Allegorie collection celebrates this heritage through a fresh, approachable interpretation of traditional Greek wines. Its portfolio highlights some of the country's most distinctive native grapes, including Moschofilero, Roditis, Assyrtiko and Agiorgitiko, sourced from established winegrowing regions such as the Peloponnese and Central Greece.

The Moschofilero and Roditis blend offers fragrant floral aromas, orchard fruit and refreshing acidity, while Assyrtiko delivers vibrant citrus character and mineral freshness. The Agiorgitiko red showcases ripe berry flavours, gentle spice and supple tannins.
