Rafael Palacios himself, the mastermind behind this prodigious winemaking project, shares a fervent passion for wine crafting. Raised amidst a distinguished family of winemakers, Rafael shifted his focus from the family's traditional Tempranillo variety in Rioja to the underappreciated Godello grape in Galicia in 2004. His commitment to this special variety spawned the birth of the Rafael Palacios winery.

The vineyard encompasses 21 hectares, diluted into 26 separate plots. Each plot is dedicated to organic farming, where sustainable practices are implemented to ensure the preservation of the native flora and fauna. The elevation and diversity of the soils, characterised by a rich blend of granite and sandy loam, contribute towards the unique personality of the wines crafted here.

The winery is most famed for its As Sortes wine; a single vineyard Godello that truly embodies the essence of this increasingly popular Galician variety.
