Tasting Note

The nose is rich and warm, with raisin and prune notes and fresher red berry fruits. Very sweet fruited on the palate, this is a big, rich and warming wine, with gentle ripe tannins and enough acidity to balance it

Product Notes

Schola Sarmenti Cubardi Primitivo is a stellar Italian red wine from Puglia region, celebrated for its sumptuous and complex character. This wine carries a lavish bouquet of black cherries, ripe blackberries, spices and a hint of liquorice. On the palate, it is full-bodied with a smooth, velvety texture enhanced by well-integrated tannins and a long-lasting finish. Its deep ruby hue is as enthralling as the taste. Aged in oak barrels, this Primitivo is delectable when complemented with robust meat dishes, yielding an unparalleled sensory experience for the true wine connoisseur. Highly recommended for its quality and authenticity.

About the Winery

Schola Sarmenti

Established in 1999 by the Marra and Calabrese families, Schola Sarmenti has emerged as one of the leading names in Salento, deep in southern Puglia. The winery is located in Nardò, near Lecce on the Ionian coast, where warm Mediterranean conditions and old bush-vine vineyards define the style of the wines. The estate operates from a beautifully restored 19th-century cellar built from traditional Lecce stone, blending historic character with state-of-the-art winemaking facilities.
