The winery's journey rooted in 2010, laid at the hands of wine enthusiasts John and Tasha Seccombe. This is a couple whose shared passion for nature’s nectar led them to break ground, quite literally, on their endeavour. Their wines spoke for themselves, garnering international acclaim early on, notably around their elegant white blends. However, their catalogue has since announced the birth of a selection of equally charismatic and noteworthy reds.
The scenic Thorne & Daughters vineyard perpetuates the mission for an authentic, pure experience: the reduction of mechanical interventions, the embrace of the natural yeast process, and conscientious grape and barrel selection. These principal a commitment to preserving the integrity and character of each vine and ultimately, every precious drop.
For John and Tasha, their connection with the land doesn't merely serve an agenda for the production of top-tier wines - it is home. This is reflected in their humble, unassuming headquarters: an old cellar in Stellenbosch. Verdant and serene, this area is not only exquisite, but it provides the ideal condition, for cultivating the variety of grapes that bring Thorne & Daughters’ wonderful selection of wines to life.
