Tasting Note

Bright ruby in colour. On the nose the wine has notes of ripe cherry, raspberry and blackberry married with hints of spice and toast from the time in oak. On the palate, the wine is medium bodied, with lively acidity, fine tannins and a lingering finish.

Product Notes

Domaine Borgeot's Santenay Rouge Vieilles Vignes is an elegant red wine from France's prestigious Burgundy region. Cultivated from timeworn vines, this wine offers a complex, yet balanced blend. On the nose, vibrant notes of red fruits mix with an underlayer of subtle spices. Palate-wise, Rouge Vieilles Vignes seamlessly merges supple tannins and meaningful acidity with flavours of cherry and earthy minerality. Its moderate body and lengthy finish make it ideal for sipping or coupling with game or red meats. Domaine Borgeot upholds viticultural heritage in crafting this wine, resulting in a refined expression of Santenay's unique terroir.

About the Winery

Domaine Borgeot

Nestled within the verdant hills and vine-draped valleys of Burgundy, France, you'll find the delightful Domaine Borgeot winery. This remarkable establishment, with a deeply rooted wine history stretching back four generations, has crafted the sublime art of viniculture into its own unique family tradition.

The Borgeot brothers, Pascal and Laurent, currently helm this prestigious winery. Following the footsteps of their grandfathers, their impressive drive and passion for wine-making have resurrected the once modest plot into a sanctuary for some of the best French wines. The duo are renowned for their commitment to producing quality wines that embody the quintessence of the Burgundian terroir.

Domaine Borgeot boasts an array of vineyards in Santenay, Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet and others, each spurring a rich diversity of grapes – from the pinot noir to the chardonnay. These lush vineyards are meticulously maintained, with the brothers employing both traditional and contemporary viticulture techniques: a blend that fosters the optimal health of the vines and the flavourful intensity of the grapes.

The winery’s production process is an equilibrium of manual labour and technology, where grape selection is done carefully and pressing is very gentle. Each bottle is a testament to the meticulous care and artisanal approach that the Borgeot’s bring to the creation of their wines.

True to its Burgundian heritage, Domaine Borgeot produces an exquisite range of red and white wines, each exuding unique, characterful profiles that engage the palate in a dance of complex flavours. From the lush, aromatic reds that evoke memories of summers under the French sun to the velvety, finely-tuned whites that whisper tales of the crisp Autumn harvest; each drop is a poetic tribute to the resplendent beauty of its birthplace.

On your visit to Domaine Borgeot, expect more than just a fabulous wine. The warmth of their hospitality - paired with the unspoilt charm and centuries-old wisdom of this beautiful landscape - combine to conjure an immersive, truly intoxicating wine experience. Indulge your senses and surrender to the spellbinding allure of Burgundy; it promises to be a journey of revelations, a symphony of taste and an odyssey of bon viveur.
