Tasting Note

Warm, spicy Syrah from an admired Rhône winemaker, heady with blackcurrant and raspberry, blackberry and cherry, perfumed with the classic Syrah blend of pepper, leather and spice.

Product Notes

Domaine Yves Cuilleron Syrah Les Vignes d'à Côté is an astounding French wine. A true reflection of the magnificent Rhône region it hails from, it is a medium-bodied red, showcasing the aromatic intensity of Syrah, with potent notes of red and black fruits, black olives, liquorice and spices. This wine features a touch of peppery spice characteristic to its varietal, delivering a robust and balanced flavour. Partly aged in oak, it shines with a depth that compliments its vigorous fruitiness before an impressive finish. Ideal for red meat pairings, it's a resolute testament to Yves Cuilleron's innovative approach.

About the Winery

Domaine Yves Cuilleron is one of the Northern Rhône's leading estates, celebrated for its expressive Syrah and Viognier wines. Although the Cuilleron family has farmed the region for three generations, it was Yves Cuilleron who transformed the domaine after taking over in 1987, expanding it from just 3.5 hectares in Condrieu and Saint-Joseph to 75 hectares across Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Saint-Joseph, Crozes-Hermitage, Cornas, Saint-Péray and IGP Collines Rhodaniennes. The vineyards are planted to Syrah, Viognier, Marsanne and Roussanne.
