Tasting Note

A phenomenal Chenin de Loire. This wine shines with a luminous clarity, offering a delicate and refined aromatic profile. Gentle notes of honeysuckle, crisp green apple, white pepper, and ripe yellow stone fruits rise from the glass. On the palate, it reveals the true character of Chenin Blanc—layered and textured, with a vibrant, mouth-watering acidity that brings energy and lift to its structured frame.

Product Notes

François Chidaine Les Bournais is a truly remarkable biodynamic Chenin Blanc wine from the Loire Valley of France. This elegant wine showcases refreshing citrus notes, intertwined with flavours of ripe pear, green apple and stony minerality. Its complex aroma carries hints of honey and white flowers, while the palate is well-balanced with a refreshing acidity and a lush, full-bodied texture. It is best savoured with seafood and chicken dishes. François Chidaine's commitment to organic and biodynamic winemaking techniques shines through in Les Bournais, making it a must-try for any discerning wine enthusiast.

About the Winery

François Chidaine

Nestled on the south bank of the Loire River in Montlouis-sur-Loire, Domaine François Chidaine stands as one of the Loire Valley's most respected producers of Chenin Blanc. The estate's modern winery is located in the village of Husseau, with vineyards stretching across three appellations: around 20 hectares in Montlouis-sur-Loire, 10 hectares in Vouvray (north of the river), and 7 hectares in the broader Touraine zone for reds, rosés, and Sauvignon Blanc—totaling about 37 hectares of biodynamically farmed land.
