Tasting Note

The Syrah delivers a perfumed, peppery, and spicy aromatic profile, with notes of ripe red fruit. Cabernet Sauvignon adds mid- palate grip and aromatic lift, enhancing the wine’s overall balance. The palate is supple and smooth on entry, with enough grip and freshness to finish dry and refreshing.

Product Notes

The A.A. Badenhorst Secateurs Red Blend is a South African treasure — a robust, full-bodied wine artfully crafted from a blend of Cinsault, Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre grapes. Its bouquet charms the senses with rich berry accents, hints of spice and earthy undertones. On the palate, it's sumptuously fruity with a delightful dash of spice, leading to a smooth, lingering finish. Ideal for pairing with hearty meats or savouring on its own, the A.A. Badenhorst Secateurs Red Blend is an elegant, indulgent experience for the discerning wine connoisseur. Truly, a superb testament to the art of winemaking.

About the Winery

A.A. Badenhorst

Situated in the heart of South Africa's stunning Swartland wine region, lies the impressive A.A. Badenhorst Family Wines winery. Privately nestled on the slopes of the Paardeberg Mountain, the winery boasts 28 hectares of old bush vines, basking under the prolific South African sun.

This extraordinary vineyard has a rich history dating back to the 17th century. Today, it's lovingly nurtured by Adi Badenhorst and his cousin, Hein. The Badenhorst family purchased the estate in 2007, restoring the beautiful old Cape Dutch buildings, and rejuvenating the old vineyards back to glorious life.

The winemaking approach at A.A. Badenhorst is a blend of traditional and innovative, with wine-making methods being passed down through the Badenhorst generations to garner the perfect combinations, of both taste and aroma from the fruit of their vines.

Working tirelessly to create the finest South African wines, the Badenhorst's magic touch is evident in every bottle that leaves their winery.
