Tasting Note

Bright, zesty and bursting with character, this vibrant Assyrtiko delivers enticing aromas of lemon, grapefruit and crisp green apple, lifted by hints of tropical fruit and flinty minerality. The palate is fresh and energetic, packed with juicy citrus, ripe stone fruit and a mouthwatering streak of acidity. A subtle saline twist adds complexity, leading to a long, crisp and refreshingly mineral finish.

Product Notes

Dedicated to showcasing the terroir's authentic personality, the Moderne Allegorie Sterea Ellada Assyrtiko wine is marvellous. This Greek white, hailing from the Assyrtiko grape variety, exhibits luscious peach and citrus notes. Elegantly balanced acidities intensify its mineral core, introducing an exhilarating freshness on the palate. Expansive, rich and surprisingly well-rounded, it sings with its own charming voice. Ageing on the lees enriches this wine further with voluptuous texture and complexity, while its invigorating finish spirals towards vibrant lemon zest. Excellent with seafood, its profound character and mysterious depth will delight discerning wine aficionados.

About the Winery

Moderne Allegorie

Moderne Allegorie is a contemporary Greek wine range produced by Greek Wine Cellars (D. Kourtakis S.A.), one of Greece's most established family-owned wine businesses. With a winemaking heritage dating back to 1895, the company was founded by Vassilis Kourtakis, a pioneering Greek oenologist who established his winery in Markopoulo, Attica, approximately 30 kilometres northeast of Athens. His vision helped lay the foundations for modern Greek winemaking, a legacy that continued through successive generations of the Kourtakis family.
