Taste Profile
Tasting Note
Luigi Moio takes the Falanghina grape to soaring new heights. The Quintodecimo 2021 Irpinia Falanghina Via del Campo is the result of 20 years of research and experimentation, I am told. Professor Moio's dream of a vintage that balances both alcohol and acidity was realized in 2021. With fruit from a site located from 300 to 440 meters in elevation on calcareous clay soils, this wine offers fresh and exotic tones of tropical fruit, kiwi and green papaya. However, there is a unique textural richness to the wine (care is taken during decantation with methods inspired by Chardonnay in Burgundy) that feels glossy and silky but never too waxy or heavy. - Monica Larner, Robert Parker Wine Advocate 95/100
Product Notes
Quintodecimo Via del Campo Falanghina is a truly exquisite Italian white wine, originating from the sunny Campania region. This wine indulges the senses with its elegant combination of floral and multifaceted fruity aromas. An undertone of almond and citrus is distinctly noticeable, adding finesse and lightness to its profile. The maturation in oak barrels lends it a perfectly-balanced and slightly smoked finish. Truly tantalising on the palate, it impressively boasts a well-rounded, long-lasting aftertaste, testament to its superior quality. Quintodecimo Via del Campo Falanghina is an outstanding choice for those who appreciate sophisticated white wines.
