Product Notes

Tokara Director's Reserve Red wine is a remarkable South African blend, rich in heritage and character. It boasts an intoxicatingly dark crimson colour, signifying intense flavours of blackberry, plum, and mint, subtly layered with undertones of chocolate and tobacco. The velvety tannins harmoniously balance with the full-bodied complexity, leading to a satisfyingly long finish. It is aged in French oak barrels imparting an understated spiciness and exquisite smoothness. Grown in the esteemed vineyards on the slopes of Stellenbosch's Simonsberg mountains, this reserve red is a timeless testament to Tokara's commitment to both tradition and innovation.

Tasting Notes

Displaying an appealing red claret colour with an intense centre and a ruby rim. The nose showcases complex aromas including ripe red and black berry fruit with hints of creamy cassis, cedar wood and toasted oak. The wine enters the palate with incredible purity and focus. Flavours are those of dark cherry, blackberries and ripe plum skin. Sumptuous and full there is a pleasant hint of spice on the mid-palate which leads to fine, firm tannins on the finish.
