Product Notes

Yalumba The Octavius Shiraz is a captivating Australian wine, handcrafted from hand-picked, old vine Barossa Shiraz. Exhibiting a bewitching deep crimson hue, it's an exquisite sensory experience defined by notes of aromatic dark berry fruits, anise, and subtle spice. Accentuated by maturation in fine grain American oak, The Octavius wine imparts a luxuriously soft palate and velvety tannins - providing a rich, complex finish with beautifully balanced acidity. A testament to the expertise of Yalumba's winemakers, the Octavius Shiraz is a perfect ambassador of superior Barossa shiraz: profound, powerful and remarkably refined.

Tasting Notes

A medium to full bodied brooding wine, that truly reflects the intriguing 2014 vintage. It exhibits savoury notes of red currants followed by dried herb aromatics, leading into almost sweet and sour plums. The palate depth is all Barossa Valley, with a dark bitter chocolate roundness and medium to full depth of ironstone tannins through to the finish.
