About the Winery

Isole e Olena

Isole e Olena is a revered winery, nestled in the heart of Chianti Classico, Tuscany's serene landscapes. With history coursing through the veins of its scenic beauty, this vineyard brings to light the timeless elegance of refined winemaking in Italy.

The winery was born in the '50s through the union of two adjoining estates, 'Isole' and 'Olena', owned respectively by the De Marchi family. Today, third-generation winemaker Paolo De Marchi oversees operations, bringing with him a wealth of family wisdom and a personal devotion to producing nothing short of exceptional wines.

But it's not just the classic regional wine that this illustrious winery produces, Paolo is also acclaimed for having pioneered the Super-Tuscan movement with his creation of Cepparello, a 100% Sangiovese wine that shatters local winemaking traditions.

The vineyard spreads across 290 hectares of vigorous hills, with 49 hectares specifically devoted to vine cultivation. Isole e Olena's farming practices focus on sustainable viticulture, respecting the heritage of the land, while subtly combining modern winemaking techniques. The fruit of this harmony is a lineup of wines, each carrying distinct notes of their terroir's character and a story waiting to be sipped and savoured.
