Tasting Note

Golden yellow and slightly hazy, with an expressive, complex nose of quince, tangerine and ripe orchard fruit, complemented by fennel, dried herbs and subtle honeyed notes. The palate is concentrated and textured yet retains excellent freshness, with citrus and quince fruit supported by lively acidity and a fine tannic grip from extended skin contact. Delicate creamy and savoury nuances add depth, leading to a long, chalky and distinctly saline finish.

Garnering acclaim for its rich, honeyed taste, it strikes a flawless balance between sweet Malvasia grapes and a broad, bone-dry finish. This wine's unique maceration process lends it a weighty, textured feel, while still maintaining an elegant freshness. About the Winery

Alonso & Pedrajo represents a new generation of Rioja producers, combining the region’s long tradition of extended ageing with a more adventurous, low-intervention approach to winemaking. Based in Villalba de Rioja, beneath the Montes Obarenes in the north-western corner of Rioja Alta, this small family project produces distinctive wines with a strong emphasis on vineyard origin, texture and individuality.
