About Costers del Priorat

Costers del Priorat is a boutique winery located in the heart of Spain’s renowned DOQ Priorat region in Catalonia, near the village of El Molar. Founded in 2000 by a group of experienced winegrowers and wine entrepreneurs including Enric Solé, Pau Urgell, Josep Massana, Marc Massana and Josep Ramon Sedó, the project was created to capture the rugged character and diversity of Priorat’s dramatic slate-soil vineyards.

The winery farms historic estates including Sant Martí, Mas Alsera and Les Solanes, with many old Garnacha and Cariñena vines planted on the region’s steep “costers” slopes. Housed partly within a restored 15th-century Carthusian farmhouse, the cellar combines traditional methods with modern winemaking.

Costers del Priorat produces a range of expressive red and white wines, including Pissarres, Petit Pissarres and Clos Alzina, known for their mineral intensity, concentration and Mediterranean character. Today, the winery is recognised as one of Priorat’s quality-focused producers, crafting wines that reflect the individuality of its varied terroirs.
