Tasting Note

The 'Les Caillerets’ Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru is showing an intense nose of salted lemons and crème fraiche with hints of toasted bread. Elegant and well-structured with layers of linear fruit and saline minerality, it promises great ageing potential.

Product Notes

Domaine Jean-Noël Gagnard Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Caillerets is an exquisite French white wine. This Burgundy gem emanates intense floral and citrus aromas, skillfully intertwined with hints of honey and spice. The palate is delicately balanced, presenting an elegant trifecta of richness, minerality and acidity. It boasts a persistent finish, reverberating the complex fruity and floral nodes. The wine is made primarily from Chardonnay grapes meticulously grown in the eminent Les Caillerets vineyard, embodying the robust character of its terroir. Cultivated with conviction, this wine epitomises the masterful winemaking traditions of the Gagnard family.

About the Winery

Domaine Jean-Noël Gagnard has been led by Caroline Lestimé, Jean-Noël’s daughter, since 1989. The 12.5-hectare estate has been certified organic since 2014 and is also farmed according to biodynamic principles. Most vineyards lie in the heart of Chassagne-Montrachet, with an additional site, Clos Bortier, in the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune, planted in 2015 just above Saint-Aubin.
