Tasting Note

A pale gold in the glass. On the nose this wine displays notes of acacia, citrus fruits and hints of brioche. The palate is richly textured with flavours of stone fruits and subtle mineral notes. It is pure and expressive with bright acidity and good length on the finish.

Product Notes

Domaine Jean-Noël Gagnard Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Beaune Clos Bortier is an enchanting French wine. Sourced in the renowned Burgundy region, it carries distinctive complex yet balanced taste. This red wine offers a bouquet of ripe raspberry & cherry mingling with earthy undertones and a hint of spice. With a long, gratifying finish, medium body and finely integrated tannins, it pairs marvellously with a range of dishes. The wine's elegance and individual character is a true reflection of the Gagnard family's dedication to traditional winemaking. It’s a beautiful testament to exceptional French winemaking skills.

About the Winery

Domaine Jean-Noël Gagnard has been led by Caroline Lestimé, Jean-Noël’s daughter, since 1989. The 12.5-hectare estate has been certified organic since 2014 and is also farmed according to biodynamic principles. Most vineyards lie in the heart of Chassagne-Montrachet, with an additional site, Clos Bortier, in the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune, planted in 2015 just above Saint-Aubin.
